A Personal Conversation About the Right Next Step

You do not have to know exactly what your son needs before reaching out.

At Woodhaven, admissions begins with a conversation.

Why Woodhaven?

Beyond Early Stabilization

Short-term treatment can be an important beginning, but many families are left asking what comes next. Woodhaven provides the time, structure, and support residents need to strengthen their recovery, rebuild daily routines, and begin creating a life with more purpose, responsibility, and direction.

Recovery Woven Into Daily Life

At Woodhaven, recovery is woven into school, family involvement, recreation, clinical engagement, community, and planning for what comes next. This helps residents experience recovery not as something separate from daily life, but as the foundation for how they live, learn, relate, and grow.

A Path Toward Greater Independence

Woodhaven’s residential continuum gives residents the opportunity to build responsibility, confidence, and independence while remaining connected to structure, accountability, and support.

Is Woodhaven the Right Fit?

Woodhaven is designed for adolescent boys who are:

  • Transitioning from inpatient treatment, detox, or another treatment setting

  • In early recovery and in need of continued structure

  • Able to engage in high school academic coursework

  • Working toward greater independence and personal responsibility

The admissions process helps us understand whether Woodhaven can provide the right level of support for your son at this stage of his recovery.

1.

Initial Conversation

We take time to explain our program, answer your questions, and learn what has been happening for your son and your family.

What Happens When You Reach Out

Our admissions process is personal.

It begins with a conversation with a co-founder, not a commitment.

2.

Connecting With His Care Team

We consult with his current clinical team, treatment providers, school, or other professionals involved in his care to understand the full picture.

3.

Meeting Your Son

Our co-founder meets virtually with your son to introduce him to Woodhaven, answer his questions, and begin building a connection before he arrives.

4.

Coordinating the Transition

When Woodhaven is the right next step, we work closely with your son, your family, and his providers to plan a transition that feels thoughtful and well prepared.

Take the Next Step

If you are exploring the next steps, we encourage you to reach out.

At Woodhaven, a co-founder is part of every admissions call. We understand from our own experience how difficult and important this decision can be.

While you consider next steps, we invite you to read Beyond the Shadow, reflections on recovery written by our co-founder, who has walked a similar path.
