Our Founders

  • Michael Ng, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Woodhaven Recovery, an adolescent recovery program in Pennsylvania

    Michael Ng, BS

    Executive Director

Michael Ng brings both lived and professional experience to his leadership at Woodhaven Recovery. Since beginning his work with teens and young adults in 2015, Michael has remained deeply committed to helping young people and their families find stability, connection, accountability, and hope in recovery.

In 2021, Michael recognized a significant gap in the recovery continuum for older teens and young adults and opened The Mulberry House, a structured sober living residence in Scranton. Through that work, he saw the need for a more complete adolescent recovery model, one that could support young people not only in sobriety but also in school, family life, daily structure, and future planning.

Together with Mark and Jill DeRosa, Michael helped create Woodhaven Recovery, a continuum of care designed specifically for adolescents and young adults in recovery.

As a person in recovery, Michael brings an understanding that is both personal and practical. His leadership is grounded in compassion, accountability, lived experience, and the belief that young people can build meaningful lives beyond addiction.

  • Mark DeRosa, Director of Finance and Scholarships at Woodhaven Recovery

Dr. Jill DeRosa, Ed.D., M.S.Ed., MA, BA

Director of Education and Family Programs

Dr. Jill DeRosa has spent her career working with children, families, schools, and communities. She served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and Assistant Superintendent, with leadership responsibilities spanning special education, student services, human resources, and community programs. While continuing her work in public education, Jill helped build Woodhaven Recovery, bringing her experience in schools directly to the work of adolescent recovery.

Her work at Woodhaven grows directly from that experience. Jill understands that adolescent recovery cannot be separated from education, family, development, relationships, and future planning. Teen boys in recovery need more than time away from substances. They need to keep learning, rebuild confidence, strengthen relationships, and begin imagining a life that feels possible.

Jill also brings a personal understanding of recovery through her own story and the experiences of close family members. Those journeys shaped her commitment to improving educational support and family programming for young people in recovery.

Together with her husband, Mark, and their friend and colleague Michael Ng, Jill helped create the Woodhaven Recovery continuum, a place where recovery, education, family support, and daily life come together in one community.

    Mark DeRosa, MBA, BS

    Director of Finance and Scholarships

Mark DeRosa brings extensive entrepreneurial, financial, and operational experience to Woodhaven Recovery. His career has focused on building businesses that help individuals and organizations navigate insurance, human resources, and strategic financial planning.

Mark also understands the impact addiction has on an entire family. Through his own family experiences, he has seen how deeply addiction affects parents, siblings, and loved ones, and how important it is for families to find guidance, support, and hope.

As Woodhaven Recovery took shape, Mark’s vision, commitment, and leadership helped make the program possible. He plays a central role in finance, operations, scholarships, and long-term planning, helping ensure that Woodhaven remains strong, sustainable, and accessible to families seeking care for their sons.

Together with Jill and Michael, Mark helped build Woodhaven Recovery from an idea into a sustainable program, bringing the vision, planning, and steady leadership needed to support families and strengthen the continuum for years to come.

Overnight supervisors offer consistent support and safety around the clock, and our collegiate house managers create a supportive environment for young adults in our college recovery program.

Our family facilitators play a key role in supporting the families of our residents. They offer guidance and help foster communication through weekly virtual support groups, monthly educational meetings, and fun, engaging activities that strengthen the family’s involvement in the recovery process.

Together, our entire staff collaborates to create an atmosphere of trust, respect, and hope, offering a safe and nurturing space where residents can heal, grow, and develop the life skills they need for a successful future.

  • "I endearingly, but not lightly, call them “World Changers,” because that is exactly what they are doing. We will never know the full impact these people will have on their residents’ young minds and futures, but it will, no doubt, be positive."
